With the scheduled bus service, which thanks to a dense network of bus stops covers the whole island, you get to anywhere on the island in comfort. If you run out of breath on your cycling tour, a bus home (for your bike as well) is a comfortable release. All towns and villages on the island have a regular service. Whether you’re travelling with the whole family, or you want to redeem a transfer voucher, or you want to take your bike with you, SVG has the right ticket for you! And you can also buy a ticket on the bus.

Sylt’s route network is also served by direct bus. If you’re really in a hurry and don’t want to stop at every bus stop along the way, then the Direktbus is the right alternative for you.

Mobile on Sylt|with island tours

The daily “Short Tour” leaves ZOB bus station at 11:00 returning approx. 13:00 (April to October)

The short tour covers Wenningstedt, Kampen, the shifting sand dunes and Königshafen on the way to List. After a short break it proceeds back to Westerland via Braderup, Munkmarsch, Keitum and Tinnum.

The daily “Long Tour” leaves ZOB bus station at 14:00 returning approx. 17:15.

The three-hour tour with a local guide starts at the railway station in the centre of Westerland northwards through Wenningstedt and Kampen, through the shifting sand dunes, past the tradition-rich Königshafen to List.

From here the tour proceeds to Braderup, Munkmarsch, Keitum, and Tinnum, past the southern city limits of Westerland to Rantum, and finally to Hörnum, where there is an option of taking a short cruise to the southern tip of Sylt (please check availability beforehand!). And there will of course be plenty of breaks along the way.

Mobile on Sylt|with the Stadtbuses

The Stadtbus is en route for you 13 hours a day. Enjoy being driven around! Three Mercedes-Benz buses, specially lowered for your comfort and enjoyment, with 240 brake horse power, and air conditioning leave every half hour. From the railway station /bus station (ZOB) a bus leaves for the town centre every 15 minutes, on the hour and the half hour via the southern town centre (Line B) or via the northern town centre quarter to the hour and quarter past (Line A).

The dense network of bus stops also means you can embark near to your hotel or holiday apartment. From there you can always get to the beach, to Sylter Welle, Syltness Center, downtown, to the station and many other destinations quickly and comfortably. With the Stadtbus you are mobile, independent, and you travel safely.

Tickets are available on the Stadtbus for all combinations, whether families, groups or individuals.
